The golf cart speed switch or board is one of the most vital parts of the whole caddie. It sends a signal to your controller communicating the position of the throttle, or if you have an older cart, it’s sending a lot more than that. The vintage drive systems used this part to send all of the energy from the batteries to their next destination. As you can imagine, this was a lot of stress on the stationary and the EZGO Moveable Contact. These parts are made out of copper. While it is praised for its low cost and high conductivity, it melts at a pretty low temperature compared to other metals. You are more than likely going to replace this several times over the coach’s life.
The golf cart switch board is composed of several copper contacts. This unit allows for smooth acceleration. If even one of them is melted on the original, we recommend replacing the whole board. The other ones are likely ready to follow the bad one out the door.
